A  Rambler Road Trip!

The Southern Nevada AMCRC club holds a show every November and we decided the 2011 one was going to be Rita's first long road trip. It would be 500 miles round trip. In addition to this, my Dad, who bought the car new, was going to get to see it for the first time since restoration.  Unfortunately, at the last minute, the ride taking him to the show had to cancel.  We were all planning to leave early Friday morning, but, witht he change in my Dad's plans, Rick left before dawn on Thursday in the Rambler, which then made an eight hour drive to pick him up.  Matt and I left the next day in his Wagoneer for the shorter trip to Las Vegas (five hours).  We had a 69 Ambassador along for company. The Rambler arrived later that day, 750 miles after pulling out of the driveway the day before. It was a great show, with a nice bunch of people and cars from every spectrum of the AMC world. Matt's Wagoneer won an award for best Jeep!  Sunday, we were back on the road again, this time with a 65 Marlin for company for part of the way.  I really enjoy driving my car...here are some pictures of the trip there and back, and of the show. It ended up being a 1,000 mile trip for the Rambler.
