The 2011 AMO International Convention
The AMO International Convention was held in Sedona AZ, July 6th-10th 2011.
As it was so close by, we decided to aim for it as our finish date back when we first started the car. It was close, but we not only had the Rambler ready, but Matt's Wagoneer, as well. Early on the morning of July 9th, we headed downt he hill to Sedona for a judged, concours-type show. Both cars were entered as Display Only: Non-judged.

Once we were there, however, Matt decided he really wanted to try to win something with his Wagoneer, so we hustled to the table to add his car to the judging list. While we were there, some sort of insanity hit me, and I added the Rambler as well. Click on any picture to enlarge. The two photos in the third row taken by Andy Ray.
It was a gorgeous day and the venue couldn't have been nicer - we parked on the green grass of the Poco Diablo Resort, sat under the trees, and visited with friends both old and new. The cars there were AMAZING. We couldn't stay for the awards banquet, however, as we hadn't made plans for that, and headed back up the hill after the show ended, happy that our cars were well-recieved. It was a wonderful day. Later that night, a friend at the show e-mailed us. Our cars had won awards.
The Wagoneer was awarded a Junior Silver Award in the Jeep Stock class, and the Rambler, a Junior Gold Award in the Stock Rambler class WOW. To say we were floored is an understatement. Thanks go out to the friends at the show who encouraged us to enter.
The next day, we took some glamour shots of the Rambler. Isn't she pretty?

My Rambler is a Centerfold.....
Winning an award of this caliber was incredible - and topped off an already perfect day - but, in the end, it comes down to having a piece of one's history back. Being able to drive a car from one's past, that had become a member of the family, and for that, I am one happy girl. The bottom line is - I have my car back.
